When I think about going to India…I heard stories about India… about the kind of place that it is. When I think about the situations, it shouldn’t be as comfortable as countries like America, Korea, or Germany. But when I think about the heart of God that wants to preach the gospel to the Indian people, when I think about the many souls that are there who are seeking for the truth but can not find the truth, then inside of my heart I also can receive the heart of God. Those things can not become a problem to me…like the living conditions the food or the culture…those things can not become a problem if my heart is focused on the gospel. One thing that I learned going to many different countries like India, China, or Ghana, I could feel that regardless where I am, if my heart is in the with the Lord and inside of the gospel…then none of those things can become a problem. There are many people who live in those difficult situations and its not like that I can not live there also because we’re all the same flesh. If other people can live there how come I can’t live there? I mean we’re all human, so we’re all the same. It’s not a condition that we can not live in, but its just the state of mind. Those people are able to live there in that difficult environment and they are also able to eat the food there. So, how come I also can’t live there and eat the food there? Its only matters about the state of my mind, whether my heart is with God or whether I put my heart into the problems that are in India or the difficult conditions in India. So, I feel that just like Apostle Paul who was able to be free from the situation while he was in prison, he was beaten and put in prison for many years but inside of his heart he had peace. He was able to preach the gospel and continue to sing praises to God. If I have God inside of my heart it does not matter where I go, but I can also have that peace inside of my heart. Now that I’m going to India, I have a really thankful heart that God has given us this opportunity to preach the gospel to many countries and also has given us this time to be able to preach to the Indians. I also have a thankful heart that they speak English, so I can freely have fellowship with them and freely preach the gospel to them. I heard that there’s a lot of persecution from the Hindus and Muslims, but I know that God is working everything according to his plan and He will accomplish everything according to his plan. So, whether it works out well for us or does not work out well for us, I have faith that God is leading our lives. I have a very thankful heart toward God for allowing me this opportunity.


제가 인도에 간다는 생각을 하고 있을 때 인도에 대한 소식을 들었습니다. 그 상황을 생각할 때 미국,한국 또는 독일처럼 안정되지 않은 나라입니다. 그러나 복음을 인도 사람들에게 전하고자 하시는 주님의 마음과 진리를 발견하고자 하지만 그것을 발견하지 못한 수많은 영혼들을 생각하면서 제 마음안에 주님의 마음이 임하시게 되었습니다. 제 마음이 복음에 초점이 맞추어져 있다면 음식이나 문화 등 이런 것들은 제게 문제가 될 수 없지요. 제가 여러 나라들을 전도 여행차 다녀 오면서 한가지 배운 것은 제가 어느 곳에 있든지 제 마음이 주님과 함께 있고 복음안에 있다면 이러한 것들은 문제가 되지 않는다는 것입니다. 세상에는 그런 어려운 형편속에 있는 사람들이 많이 있고 우리가 같은 육체를 가지고 있기 때문에 그런 외형적인 형편 때문에 살지 못할 조건은 될 수 없습니다. 제가 거기에서 살 수 없다면 다른 사람은 어떻게 살겠습니까? 우리가 다 같은 인간이고 같은 사람입니다. 제가 살 수 없는 조건은 없습니다. 다만 제 마음의 상태가 중요하지요. 그 나라 사람들은 어려운 형편 속에서도 살아가고 있고 음식도 먹습니다. 그들도 살아가고 있는데 제가 살아가지 못하고 먹지 못할게 무엇이 있겠습니까? 그렇기 때문에 제 마음이 주님의 마음 안에 거하느냐, 아니면 인도의 형편과 어려운 문제 속에 빠지느냐 하는 것이 중요한 것입니다.


사도 바울이 감옥에 갇혔든지 매를 맞든지 수년 동안 감옥에 있었지만 그의 마음 안에는 평안이 있었습니다. 그는 계속해서 복음을 전할 수 있었고 주님을 찬양했습니다. 제 마음안에 하나님이 거하신다면 제가 어느곳에 가든지 문제가 될 수 없고 또한 제 마음 안에도 주님의 그런 평안이 있습니다. 제가 인도에 가면서 여러 나라에 복음을 전할 수 있는 기회를 주신 하나님이 감사하고 특히 인도 사람들에게 복음을 전할 수 있도록 기회를 주신 주님께 감사를 드립니다. 또한 그들이 영어를 말할 수 있기 때문에 자유롭게 그들과 교제하고 복음을 자유로이 전할 수 있다는 것도 감사합니다. 힌두교와 모슬렘교에서 교회를 핍박하고 있다는 이야기를 들었습니다. 그러나 하나님은 당신의 계획대로 모든 것을 이루신다는 사실을 알고 있습니다. 제게 일이 잘 되든 못되는 그것과 상관없이 주님이 나를 이끌어 가신다는 사실을 믿습니다. 이런 기회를 주신 하나님께 감사를 드립니다."
